RCCI holds international awards ceremony in Uzbekistan to boost trade

Former President Syed Asad Mashadi Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award for Exceptional Contributions to Business Community

ISLAMABAD, NOV 12 /DNA/ – The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) hosted its 36th International Achievement Awards ceremony in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The prestigious event celebrated outstanding accomplishments in business, innovation, and industry, while fostering regional trade, investment, and industrial cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

The Chief Guest, Kurdatov Laziz Shavkatovich, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, in his remarks, Minister Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich lauded the growing business partnership between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and identified key areas for future collaboration, including fruits and vegetables, textiles, pharmaceuticals, tourism and information technology. He also commended RCCI’s efforts to promote cross-border collaboration and economic partnership. Group Leader and Former RCCI President Sohail Altaf received memento for his dynamic leadership and unwavering advocacy on behalf of Pakistan’s business community, particularly on critical budgetary and policy matters including controversial clauses in fiscal budget 2025-26.

The Lifetime Achievement Award to former RCCI President Syed Asad Mashadi, in recognition of his outstanding services, visionary leadership, and lasting contributions to the growth and empowerment of Pakistan’s business sector. His recognition stands as a tribute not only to his personal achievements but also to the collective strength and progressive spirit of RCCI and its members.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Ahmed Farooq, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan; Alisher Shaikhov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; and Zaheer Abbas, Pakistan’s Trade Counselor in Tashkent.

Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Usman Shaukat emphasized the chamber’s commitment to strengthening international linkages, enhancing trade diplomacy, and building new avenues for Pakistani exports and investments.
