Ambassador Chandra W. Sukotjo invites Pakistani businesses to 41st Trade Expo Indonesia, highlights opportunities in tourism, halal industry and renewable energy
RAWALPINDI, AUG 3 /DNA/ – The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) welcomed the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Pakistan, Chandra W. Sukotjo, who visited the Chamber along with his delegation. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mrs. Ingan Malen, Head of Economic Affairs; Mrs. Qurrat Ul Ain, Staff, Economic Section; Mr. Muhammad Khairul Ajyal, Staff, Socio-Culture Section; and Mr. Dicky Rachmat Pauji, Personal Secretary to the Ambassador.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat, along with Vice President Fahad Barlas, Executive Committee members, and members of the business community, extended a warm reception to the distinguished guests.
In his welcome address, RCCI President Usman Shaukat underscored the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Indonesia and emphasized the vast untapped potential for expanding bilateral trade. He urged both countries to enhance regional trade cooperation, increase Pakistani exports to Indonesia, encourage business-to-business linkages, and facilitate the exchange of trade delegations. He also stressed the need to explore new avenues of collaboration in manufacturing, agriculture, value-added products, and emerging industries.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador H.E. Mr. Chandra W. Sukotjo reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to further strengthening economic and commercial relations with Pakistan. He highlighted tourism, halal food, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and digital technologies among the key sectors offering promising opportunities for collaboration. He noted that both countries enjoy excellent diplomatic relations and should now translate this goodwill into stronger trade and investment partnerships.
The Ambassador informed participants that Indonesia has simplified the visa process for Pakistani business travelers and indicated that a reduction in visa fees is also under consideration to facilitate greater business mobility and commercial exchanges.
He also invited the Pakistani business community to participate in the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia, scheduled to be held from October 14 to 18, 2026, describing it as one of Southeast Asia’s premier trade exhibitions and an ideal platform for Pakistani exporters, manufacturers, and investors to explore new markets, forge strategic partnerships, and expand their global footprint.
The meeting concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional cooperation, promoting private-sector engagement, and unlocking new opportunities for sustainable economic growth between Pakistan and Indonesia.
