RAWALPINDI, Nov 23 (APP/DNA): The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has welcomed the reinstatement of Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) 760 of 2013, which is a regulatory framework governing the trade of precious metals, including the import and export of gold. The Chamber termed the development a major breakthrough for Pakistan’s business community, particularly the gems and jewelry export sector.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the RCCI expressed its profound appreciation to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and Commerce Minister Jam Kamal for their proactive and committed efforts in restoring this crucial policy framework.
RCCI President Usman Shaukat also extended heartfelt congratulations to Akhtar Khan Tessori, Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Gems Jewellery Traders and Exporters Association, President Imran Khan Tessori, and the entire gems and jewelry community.
He praised their exemplary leadership, perseverance, and dedicated advocacy, which played a decisive role in the successful reactivation of SRO-760.
“The issuance of this notification by the Ministry of Commerce is a milestone development,” said President Usman Shaukat.
“It will not only reinvigorate Pakistan’s jewelry export industry but also serve as a strong step toward enhancing the country’s overall export potential”, he added.
