ATTOCK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Syed Ejaz Hussain Bukhari Advocate, has thrown a bold challenge to the government, stating that if Section 144 is lifted, he will gather 20,000 workers at the rally venue within 24 hours. If he fails, he vowed to resign from his provincial assembly seat.
Speaking to the media, Bukhari criticized the government, claiming that if he fulfills his challenge, both Information Ministers should step down from their positions. He accused the authorities of stealing PTI’s mandate, unlawfully imprisoning innocent party workers, and using Section 144 as a tool of repression while calling it a success.
He further stated that PTI leaders and workers have been unjustly detained while the government hypocritically talks about negotiations, which the party rejects outright.
Syed Ejaz Hussain Bukhari also condemned the imposition of the PECA Act against journalists, stating that it is a blatant attempt to suppress freedom of speech.
“This government has crossed all limits of oppression. It has neither respected personal privacy nor the sanctity of homes. But let it be clear—such cowardly tactics will never erase the love for Imran Khan from the hearts of the people,” he asserted.
