Romanian Ambassador celebrates Orthodox Easter with friends

ISLAMABAD, APR 12 /DNA/ – Romania’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dan Stoenescu, hosted a warm celebration of Orthodox joined by diplomats from various missions.

In a post shared on social media, Ambassador Stoenescu highlighted the event as a moment of cultural sharing and interfaith connection. The gathering featured traditional Romanian Easter elements, including painted eggs and cozonac (a sweet braided bread), alongside friendly conversations that underscored the power of diplomacy in building bridges.

“Great to celebrate Orthodox Easter in Islamabad together with the Embassy of Romania team, alongside our Bulgarian, Serbian, and German friends,” Stoenescu wrote. “From sharing traditional Easter eggs and sweet cozonac to warm conversations, it was a beautiful reminder that faith and friendship transcend borders.”

He also praised Islamabad as “the city of peace” on a day marked by important talks and dialogue, noting that such events reinforce diplomacy’s core values: trust, understanding, and human connection. The post used hashtags #IslamabadTalks and #OrthodoxEaster.

This celebration aligns with Ambassador Stoenescu’s ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural and people-to-people ties between Romania and Pakistan. He has previously organized events highlighting shared values, interfaith dialogue, and bilateral friendship, including Romania’s National Day receptions and cultural exchanges.

The event brought together representatives from several Orthodox and European nations in a spirit of unity during the Easter period. This story reflects the quiet but meaningful work of diplomacy in fostering goodwill amid global challenges.
