BUCHAREST: Russia’s decision to expel Romania’s consul general in St Petersburg is predictable after the European Union state expelled his counterpart from the Black Sea city of Constanta in the wake of a drone crash, the Romanian foreign ministry said.
A Russian drone crashed into an apartment block in the eastern Romanian city of Galati during an overnight attack on neighbouring Ukraine in May, the first time a densely populated area in a NATO country had been hit causing injuries during Russia’s war in Ukraine.
