SCCI Leader declares Budget 2025-26 as people-friendly

SUKKUR, Jun 11 (APP): Bilal Waqar Khan, former President of the Sukkur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), has welcomed the government’s focus on revitalizing the property sector in the federal budget 2025-26, particularly through tax reductions.

Taking to APP here on Wednesday, Khan expressed optimism that these incentives would encourage overseas Pakistanis to invest in the country’s real estate market. He also praised the budgetary measures, such as the removal of Federal Excise Duty on commercial property and reduction in income tax rates for salaried individuals.

Khan described the budget presented by Finance Minister Mian Aurangzeb as a people-friendly initiative that will support economic growth. He commended the budget proposals as people-centric and pro-development, saying that they would lead to overall betterment for the people.

Highlighting the social impact of the budget, Khan appreciated the steps taken for pensioners and the revision of tax slabs, which would provide much-needed relief to the salaried class. He also welcomed the 20% increase in the defence budget, terming it a necessary move considering the country’s security needs.

Furthermore, he praised the government’s inclusion of freelancers in the economic framework, noting that this step would generate valuable foreign revenue for the country. He said that the government’s policies to create a favourable investment environment had led to a significant increase in investment inflows.

Khan concluded that the government had taken positive decisions and announced various programs for the uplift of economic and social sectors of the country. He appreciated the reduction in taxes and levies, saying that it was a good effort to flourish business activities in the country.
