SARGODHA, Jan 19 (DNA):President Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI),Khawaja Yasir Qayyum on Monday expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic fire incidents that occurred at Gul Plaza and Karachi International Container Terminal (KICT) in Karachi,resulting in the loss of precious human lives and causing heavy financial losses to traders.

In a statement issued here,Khawaja Yasir Qayyum said that such heartbreaking incidents not only devastate the affected families but also pose serious concerns for the entire business community.
He stressed that the tragedies underscore the urgent need for the government and relevant authorities to strengthen fire safety mechanisms,conduct comprehensive safety audits of commercial centers,plazas and industrial areas and take strict action against those found responsible for negligence.
He demanded that the losses suffered by affected traders and institutions be assessed immediately and transparently,followed by the provision of financial assistance and relief to help them resume their business activities.
He also called for simplifying and expediting the insurance claims process so that victims do not face further hardships.
The SCCI president urged the federal and provincial governments to prioritize the installation of modern firefighting systems,enhance the capacity of fire brigades and ensure professional training of personnel to prevent such incidents in the future.
Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families,Khawaja Yasir Qayyum prayed for eternal peace for the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured.
