RAWALPINDI, FEB 8: The implementation of Section 144 in Rawalpindi has been extended for fifteen days.
According to a notification issued by the Rawalpindi district administration, the restriction will now remain in force until 21 February. The extension of Section 144 was made on the recommendation of the District Intelligence Committee. As a result, complete bans on gatherings such as meetings, processions, sit-ins, assemblies, and rallies, as well as on the gathering of five or more people, will remain in place.
The notification added that the display of weapons and the use of loudspeakers will also be prohibited. It also imposed a ban on hate speech and controversial or inflammatory speeches.
The use of sticks, slingshots, bearings, and petrol bombs has also been banned. Legal action will be taken against anyone who violates Section 144.
