LAHORE: The Ferozepur Road Industrial Association (FRIA) has elected Shahbaz Aslam as a new chairman and Shafiq Butt as senior vice chairman unopposed for tenure of two years. The decision in this regard was taken by the FRIA executive committee, who met here today.
FRIA leadership as well as several other prominent personalities congratulating the newly-elected chairman of FRIA, hoped that the new chairman along with his body will utilize their best abilities to serve the traders attached with this business.
While issuing a press statement, the new chairman Shahbaz Aslam urged the government to take up the issues of business community on priority basis.
Meanwhile, PIAF patron-in-chief Mian Anjum Nisar, Chairman Faheem Saigol and LCCI former vice president Adnan Khalid Butt observed that FRIA is playing a significant role for the promotion of trade and industry issues for the last several years which is the main reason of winning the hearts of business community.
A delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajiran, led by Mr. Babar Mehmood, President Alkhidmat group Hall Road Lahore, also visited the FRIA office to congratulate the newly-elected Chairman Shahbaz Aslam, Shafiq Butt Sr Vice Chairman and the executive Committee FRIA.
The FIRA members expressed its satisfaction over the performance of outgoing office-bearers and eulogized their services for the business community. They were of the view that the way the leadership had run the affairs of the FRIA has no match.
Shahbaz Aslam, on this occasion, said that the high cost of production is not good for our exports. The cost of production is a major factor, which makes an industry stand out among competitors in the world market, he explained.
Shahbaz Aslam said that high energy tariffs, shortage of fuel for machines, high rate of taxes, and lack of skilled labour are the main reasons behind the increase in the cost of production.
