The land of Indo Pak Continent has been flourishing with the contributions of holy saints of Islam. It is a land where the lamps of spiritualistic light were lit. Their light illuminated the hearts and brought a change in the thought patterns of people. All these Aulia and Mashaikh preached love for humanity. Among such beacons of lights there are two very prominent names, Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri and Hazrat Khawja Moin uddin Chishti Ajmeri.
Hazrat Ali Bin Usman Hajveri was famous by the name of Data Ganj Bakhsh Hajveri. Through his guidance, he asked people to engage on the path of inner transformation through spiritual insight combined with practical knowledge. His life was an epitome of good manners, truthfulness, humility and mysticism. Till date it is considered as a precious treasure of gaining insight and inner knowledge. His shrine is in Lahore where people visit from every walk of life belonging to different classes, colors and creeds. The people come for finding inner peace and seeking spiritual strength.
Hazrat Khawja Ghareeb Nawaz is known to be the ambassador of love. He came to Indo Pak Subcontinent from Iran in the middle of the 12th century. In Ajmer he preached about service of humanity, kindness, humbleness and love and spread the message of Islam. His famous maxim is” Love for all and hatred for none”
On his arrival at Lahore, he visited the grave of Data Ganj Bakhsh Hajveri. He expressed his observation and impressions through these words:
“ گنج بخشِ فیضِ عالم، مظہرِ نورِ خدا
ناقصاں را پیرِ کامل، کاملاں را رہنما”
“Ganj Bakhsh, the bestower of spiritual grace upon the world, a reflection of God’s light,
A perfect guide for the imperfect, and a leader even for the accomplished.”
These bear testimony by a great saint for Data Ganj Baksh and a tribute to his knowledge and spiritual stature and insight.
Although separated by time, the two saints derive inspiration from the same spiritual fountain which enriched and watered the hearts of both these. Inspired by purity and divine love, Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh raised the foundation of knowledge of inner life and Hazrat Khawja Minuddin Chisti Ajmeri expanded this through the agencies of love, knowledge and service to fellow people. This continuity is alive till date, lighting up the hearts of people, uniting them from different backgrounds and asking them to tread on the path of truth, pure heartedness and compassion and simplicity of hearts. It can be seen that the presence of such gifted and noble people led to elevation of spiritual knowledge in the region through their timeless teachings.
