Karachi, Pakistan – Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) proudly announces a historic milestone as the Department of Biomedical Engineering celebrates the successful completion of its first-ever Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering.
Engr. Sania Tanvir daughter of Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Tahir, Executive Director of the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS). has achieved this remarkable distinction, marking a significant moment in the academic and research journey of the department and the university. Her doctoral research, titled “Precision Diagnosis for Vitiligo Detection via Machine Learning,” highlights the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in enhancing healthcare diagnostics and advancing biomedical innovation.

The research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sidra Abid Syed, Supervisor and Chairperson of the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Her guidance and mentorship played a pivotal role in the successful completion of this groundbreaking research work.
