RAWALPINDI, FEB 15: /DNA/ – The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) concluded a highly productive trade delegation visit to Washington, D.C., marking a significant milestone in advancing Pakistan–U.S. economic cooperation. The delegation, led by RCCI President Usman Shaukat, engaged in high-level meetings with U.S. government officials, policymakers, and leading business institutions to identify priority sectors and unlock new avenues for bilateral trade and investment.
During the visit, the delegation held strategic discussions with officials from the United States Department of State and the United States Department of Commerce to explore enhanced collaboration in high-growth industries. Key dialogues with Tom Suozzi and Chris Van Hollen focused on strengthening legislative support and fostering trade in sectors with significant potential, including rare earth minerals, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, and information and communications technology (ICT).
At the Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, D.C., the delegation met with Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Minister (Trade & Investment) Mohammad Hanif Channa, highlighting the vital role of private-sector diplomacy in strengthening economic ties and facilitating cross-border partnerships.
Further engagements with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce, and the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey centered on exploring joint ventures, investment opportunities, and the establishment of sister-chamber partnerships to institutionalize long-term collaboration.
