JAKARTA, OCT 1: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale struck eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, causing panic in several cities. According to details, no tsunami warning was issued following the tremor. The epicentre was located in the Maluku region, with the quake occurring at a depth of 163 kilometres. The significant depth reduced the likelihood of widespread damage.
Residents in affected areas left their homes and offices as tremors were felt across multiple cities. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
Officials confirmed that, due to the depth of the earthquake, the risk of large-scale destruction remains low.
