ISLAMABAD, Mar 4: Psychologist Wednesday emphasized that parents should build a close and friendly relationship with their children while maintaining clear boundaries and spending quality time together as a family, noting that this approach supports healthy mental well-being, reduces emotional distance, limits excessive use of digital apps and avoids imposing overly strict rules on children.

While speaking to PTV News channel, Psychiatrist Wajeeha Zafar stressed the importance of building strong parent-child relationships, adding, parents should maintain a balance of warmth and clear boundaries to ensure children feel supported while understanding limits.

She added that spending quality time together as a family helps reduce emotional distance and fosters healthy mental well-being, adding, overly strict rules or excessive reliance on digital devices can negatively impact children’s mental health.

Zafar highlighted that a nurturing and structured approach not only promotes emotional stability but also strengthens family bonds, creating an environment where children can grow confidently and develop healthy coping skills.

Expert highlighted that during Ramzan, families have the opportunity to come together around iftar tables, which not only strengthen family bonds but also promote healthy eating habits.
