ISLAMABAD, OCT 1 (DNA) : The Supreme Court is set to hear review petitions related to Article 63-A today (Tuesday).

The hearing would be led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, with the bench convening at 11:30 AM.

Justices Amin-ud-Din Khan, Jamal Mandokhel, and Mazhar Alam Miankhel would also be part of the bench.

Senior judge Justice Muneeb Akhtar had recused himself from the bench yesterday, stating that his withdrawal should not be interpreted as a refusal to hear the case.

The hearing was postponed yesterday due to Justice Akhtar’s absence, who communicated his withdrawal through two letters to the Supreme Court Registrar.

Additionally, a meeting of the Practice and Procedure Committee is expected to take place today to discuss the inclusion of a new judge in the bench.

Sources suggested that a new bench would be formed for the hearing of Article 63-A review petitions following the committee meeting.
