Supreme Court to launch online billing system

ISLAMABAD, DEC 20 – The Supreme Court is set to modernise its financial operations with a new online billing system announced after a briefing by Accountant General Pakistan Revenue (AGPR) Kamran Rashid to Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to digitalize government payments and reduce reliance on manual processes.

During the meeting, Kamran Rashid updated the Chief Justice on AGPR’s digital initiatives aimed at streamlining government payments. The briefing highlighted steps to speed up expense settlements and ensure greater transparency in financial transactions.

The Chief Justice appreciated AGPR’s efforts, emphasizing that modernizing the financial system of the Supreme Court is a top priority.

AGPR confirmed that the online billing system in the Supreme Court is expected to be operational within two weeks.

The new platform will significantly reduce dependency on manual bills and cheques, ensuring faster payment processing for court expenses.

Expansion to high courts

Plans are underway to extend the online filing system to High Courts, enabling digital collection of court fees and securities.

The Chief Justice stressed that litigants and stakeholders should benefit from fintech solutions, facilitating smoother and safer financial interactions.

Collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan was highlighted to ensure secure and transparent financial transactions across the judicial system.

As part of the meeting, AGPR Kamran Rashid presented a commemorative shield to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, symbolizing the partnership in advancing digital financial reforms.
