DHAKA, AUG 31: Former Bangladesh cricket captain Tamim Iqbal has decided to pursue a role in cricket administration. According to Bangladeshi media, Tamim is seriously considering contesting the upcoming elections of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Reports said that he has begun reviewing the BCB’s electoral procedures, and a final decision is expected within the coming week.
It is pertinent to note that Tamim announced his retirement from international cricket in January this year.
He had earlier stepped away from the game due to a heart-related issue, although he returned briefly for a short period.
He is regarded as one of Bangladesh’s most successful opening batters. His entry into cricket administration could have a significant impact on the future of Bangladeshi cricket.
