ISLAMABAD, Apr 24: Tourists on Friday praised the Punjab government and the Punjab Wildlife Department for the soon-to-arrive Electric Safari Train, promising a whisper-quiet journey through the lush beauty of Changa Manga Forest and deep into the heart of the wild.
While local visitors, tourists from other areas with local media channel expressed enthusiasm over the project, they said the upcoming electric safari train is expected to provide a unique, eco-friendly way to explore the lush Changa Manga Forest, offering an immersive experience of its natural beauty and wildlife in a more sustainable manner.
In a public comment, one visitor also said that while the traditional train experience in the forest holds its own charm and nostalgia, the new electric safari train would bring a modern, cleaner, and more comfortable way to enjoy the same scenic journey.
Another tourist said the new electric safari train would make exploring Changa Manga Forest far more enjoyable, as its smooth and eco-friendly design would allow visitors to fully absorb the sights and sounds of nature without disturbance.
A different visitor remarked that the project reflects a positive step toward sustainable tourism, adding that it could attract more families and nature lovers who prefer a cleaner and quieter travel experience inside the forest.
Meanwhile, another tourist shared that while they still appreciate the traditional forest train for its historical charm, they are excited about the electric safari train bringing a refreshing and modern way to experience the beauty of Changa Manga.
Officials also commented that the Punjab wildlife department has unveiled ambitious plans to introduce an electric tram service at Changa Manga Forest, aimed at elevating tourist facilities and enriching the overall visitor experience.
The system is designed to significantly reduce noise and emissions, ensuring minimal impact on the forest’s delicate ecosystem, while a newly laid 6-kilometer track winds gracefully through the dense woodland and the zoo within Changa Manga.
