ISLAMABAD, SEPT 5 /DNA/ – Buket Kop, the newly appointed Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) to Islamabad, paid her first official visit to the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, on Friday.
During the meeting, the two diplomats discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening relations between TRNC and Türkiye. They underlined the importance of continued collaboration in areas such as education, culture, trade, and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit also reflected the historic ties and brotherly relations between Türkiye and TRNC, which have consistently supported each other on international platforms. Ambassador Neziroğlu welcomed Buket Kop to Islamabad and expressed confidence that her tenure would help advance TRNC’s outreach and enhance bilateral cooperation.
Pakistan also maintains close and cordial ties with TRNC. Over the years, many Pakistani students have chosen TRNC as a higher education destination, particularly in fields like medicine, engineering, and social sciences. This educational link has emerged as a strong bridge between the people of Pakistan and TRNC, fostering greater understanding and goodwill.
Diplomatic sources noted that TRNC values its friendship with Pakistan and looks forward to further expanding academic, cultural, and economic engagements in the coming years. Both sides also emphasized the significance of promoting youth and student exchanges, highlighting that education remains a key driver of stronger future cooperation.
