ISLAMABAD: A Turkish company’s bid has been technically approved for the outsourcing of the Islamabad International Airport, according to sources.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) headquarters in Karachi received bids for the outsourcing process, and technical evaluation was conducted under the supervision of the Secretary of Aviation.

Sources revealed that a Turkish company’s bid and documentation have been technically approved after two companies were disqualified for submitting their bids late.

The process of reviewing the Turkish company’s documents has already begun, with the bid set to be presented to the Pakistan Airports Authority’s Board of Directors.

Upon board approval, the Turkish company will take over the outsourcing of Islamabad International Airport.

The tender opening process was closely monitored, and the federal cabinet’s approval will also be sought before the outsourcing agreement is finalized.

The Secretary of Aviation, Ahsan Mangi, is expected to brief the Prime Minister on the progress.

Following Islamabad, the government is also planning to outsource Karachi and Lahore airports as part of its broader strategy to enhance airport operations.

The deadline for submitting bids and opening documents for Islamabad Airport was set for October 7.

The federal government had earlier decided to outsource the country’s major three airports including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
