UAE bans Dubai visit visas for 20 countries

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a ban on the issuance of Dubai visit visas to citizens of 20 countries.

The ban has gone into effect immediately, affecting numerous African nations.

German media outlets reported the new restrictions, which encompass countries including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, and Comoros.

These measures were implemented as part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to address immigration-related challenges.

This development follows the UAE’s recent overhaul of its visa regime, which stipulated that no visit visas would be issued to citizens of Nigeria below the age of 40.

Notably, Pakistan remains unaffected by the newly imposed visa restrictions, allowing Pakistani nationals to continue obtaining visit visas to travel to the Gulf state without impediments.

This exception will undoubtedly be welcomed by individuals and businesses that rely on travel between Pakistan and the UAE for various purposes, including tourism and trade.
