UAE consul general rejects reports of visa suspension for Pakistanis

DUBAI: The Consul General of the United Arab Emirates, Bakheet Ateeq Al-Remeithi has dismissed reports of a suspension of visas for Pakistani nationals, stating that the claims have no basis.

He said that staff at Asia’s largest visa centre, located in Karachi, remains on duty for Pakistani applicants. In a conversation with Samaa TV, Al-Remeithi said that relations between Pakistan and the UAE rest on firm foundations. He repeated that reports of any halt in visa issuance had no truth and that Emirati visas for Pakistanis continue without disruption.

He added that certain elements circulate unfounded rumours about a suspension of UAE visas. He said that the Karachi visa centre continues to serve Pakistani men and women and that staff remains available for all routine facilitation.

He maintained that some categories of visas require an advance appointment. He said that cooperation continues for medical travel, academic seminars and other related services.
