Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosts a meeting with international observers from the IPA CIS

Tashkent: First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Farkhod Arziev held a meeting with a group of international observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States at the presidential elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The coordinator of the delegation, which includes members of the parliaments of the participating States and senior officials of the IPA CIS (22 people in total), is the First Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadali Watanzoda.

During the meeting, it was noted that the participation of a representative group of observers from the IPA CIS is a confirmation of the great interest of the CIS partners in the ongoing reforms and transformations in Uzbekistan.

The delegates praised the systematic work carried out in Uzbekistan to improve electoral legislation, create favorable conditions for active participation of citizens in political processes, strengthen the role of parliament, parties and public control.

Representatives of the IPA CIS welcomed the measures taken by our country to ensure maximum participation of citizens abroad in elections.

They also exchanged views on topical issues of inter-parliamentary interaction within the framework of the IPA CIS and the schedule of upcoming events.
