Volunteers key to peace during Muharram in Attock: Police

Qazi Shoaib Khan

ATTOCK, JUN 15 /DNA/ – Volunteers serving at Imambargahs play a vital role in maintaining peace and security during Muharram 1447 AH. Their cooperation with the police in managing the movement of Majalis and processions is essential in preventing any untoward incidents. While a spirit of brotherhood has always prevailed in Attock, it remains imperative to stay vigilant against the malicious intentions of adversaries.

These views were expressed by Hafiz Tariq, Incharge of the Explosive Detection Section (ATS), Special Branch Rawalpindi, during a special meeting held at the DPO Office Attock, where he addressed volunteers from various Imambargahs.

Also present at the meeting were Muhammad Tariq from the Elite Force, Faisal from the Security Branch Attock, Safiullah from the Special Branch Attock, and volunteers from different Imambargahs including Head Volunteer of Panjtani Imambargah Attock City Syed Karar Hussain Rizvi, Syed Zain ul Abideen, Syed Zaki Zaidi, Qamar Abbas Jafri, Rais Baloch, Shahid Ali Shah, Founder of Sipah Abbas Attock Cantt Syed Asghar Abbas Naqvi, Natiq Shah of Bhattiot, Aamir Ali Shah, Syed Abbas Haider of Akhori, and Tahseen Khan of Akhori.

Hafiz Tariq stated that while metal detectors and walk-through gates are important, it is equally necessary to ensure their proper use. More importantly, he said, is the manual body search using hands, which remains the most effective and essential method of screening.

During the session, Hafiz Tariq directed his team to demonstrate the procedure practically. Acting on his instructions, Muhammad Tariq and other personnel illustrated key points of metal detector use and manual frisking on selected volunteers, so all attendees could properly understand and apply these critical safety measures in the field.
