Weekly inflation rises by 0.73%: PBS

ISLAMABAD, JUL 4: The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported a 0.73% increase in weekly inflation.
According to the latest figures, the annual inflation rate stood at 2.06% on a year-on-year basis.

According to details surfaced on Friday, during the past week, prices of 18 essential items increased, six items became cheaper, while prices of 27 items remained stable.

The PBS said that the price of broiler chicken rose by Rs39.99 per kilogram.
The prices of onions increased by Rs5.50 per kg, tomatoes by Rs8, garlic by Rs18, and potatoes by Rs3 per kg.

The price of sugar surged by Rs10 per kg, reaching up to Rs185 per kg.

A rising trend was also observed in the prices of mutton, powdered milk and several other essential items.

Conversely, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder dropped by Rs302 during the week.
Eggs became cheaper by Rs1.53 per piece and moong dal decreased by Rs1.21 per kg, the PBS stated.
