Soomro criticized India’s reported attempts to deprive Pakistan of its water rights
ISLAMABAD, APR 26: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro has issued a strong reaction to India’s alleged violation of the Indus Waters Treaty, warning that Pakistan is not alone and stands ready to defend itself.
Speaking to the media in Ghotki, Soomro said, “Modi should know that Pakistan is not alone. If needed, we will fight alongside the Pakistan Army and lay down our lives for our homeland.”
He further asserted that if a conflict arises, “we will not only guard the borders but will cross into enemy territory and have breakfast at Darul Uloom Deoband.”
Soomro criticized India’s reported attempts to deprive Pakistan of its water rights, declaring, “If we are required to fight for Pakistan or sacrifice our lives, we will do so without hesitation, standing shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces.”
The remarks come as tensions between India and Pakistan continue to escalate, following New Delhi’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the fallout from the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
