ISLAMABAD, Oct 5 (APP/DNA): With the onset of colder nights, both branded outlets and non-branded market cloth shops are making way for winter lines, offering a variety of warm clothing while clearing out summer inventory with attractive sales of 30% to 50%.
According to a report aired on a local news channel on Sunday, this seasonal transition has coincided with attractive summer clearance sales, offering discounts ranging from 30% to 50%, which has sparked a noticeable surge in shopper activity across the city’s markets.
The stores have been busy restocking shelves with warm clothing such as sweaters, jackets and woolens to meet rising demand.
There has been a noticeable rush of female shoppers visiting stores to buy winter clothing not only for themselves but also for their children, the report said, adding that many mothers expressed satisfaction in finding warm, affordable options for their kids amid the ongoing sales.
Retailers noted this trend as a key driver of foot traffic, with families making bulk purchases to prepare for the colder months ahead.
Meanwhile, summer collections are being cleared out aggressively, allowing shoppers to take advantage of significant price cuts on seasonal items like t-shirts, shorts and light fabrics.
Market observers noted that this shift not only boosts sales but also helps retailers manage inventory efficiently as the weather changes.
Retailers have also expressed optimism about the current trend.
An owner of a branded clothing outlet said, “The winter collection is arriving just in time and customers are excited to update their wardrobes. Our summer clearance has attracted a lot of bargain hunters, which is great for business.”
Similarly, a female retailer, who runs a non-branded market shop online, added, “The discount on summer stock is helping us move products quickly and the demand for winter wear is picking up fast. We expect sales to remain strong through the season.”
