ISLAMABAD, MAY 8 /DNA/ – Ajmal Baloch President  All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran & Traders Action Committee Islamabad and Secretary &  Convener Traders Committee ICCI Khalid Chaudhry have said that on the orders of IMF, FBR  Decided to install POS at Big Shops, this demand was given by the owners of chain stores.

The companies who have installed POS have seen a 30-35% drop in their annual sales.  POS officials are involved in this and bypass it.  They also receive millions of rupees in monthly fees from institutions.  The FBR launched a reward scheme due to the decline in sales of large companies, but to date no one has been able to find out to whom these rewards were given, thus injecting crores of rupees into the government revenue,  They further said that now FBR has issued POS notices to all retailers who are doing retail business Gali mohalla.

Small street vendors have been forcibly registered for sales tax, which is totally illegal.  Small shopkeepers cannot afford the annual cost of POS.  Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail and Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed should immediately take the business representatives into confidence before the budget and issue orders to de-register small traders from sales tax.
