Yousaf Raza Gilani lauds Pakistan Sweet Home's efforts on 77th Independence Day

ISLAMABAD, AUG 15 /DNA/ – Our forefathers rendered sacrifices for creation of a separate homeland and we all have a duty to protect this country.  Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani remarked,while addressing a ceremony held in connection with Independence Day celebrations at Pakistan Sweet Home. He emphasized the importance of honoring those who were martyred during Pakistan’s independence movement.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani praised the initiatives of Pakistan Sweet Home for the care and facilities being provided to the children.

He mentioned that 14 years ago, Zammurad Khan started with a few children in Pakistan, and now we see a huge difference.  Creating a safe, loving, and supportive environment for these children is commendable. It is also our religious duty to support and fulfill the needs of orphans.

He highlighted the importance of managing education and employment opportunities which were also propagated by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

He also noted that Malala Yousafzai was nominated for award during his tenure as prime minister and later recognized globally and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The chairman senate said that his son was in Afghanistan, but he supported Malala Yousafzai and advocated for the return of Afghan refugees to Pakistan. The 3.5 million refugees from the Soviet-Afghan war were taken care by  Pakistan,  and I continued to call upon the  international community to support Pakistan in this regard.

Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani underscored the significant sacrifices Pakistan has made in the fight against terrorism and stressed that ending the current wave of terrorism is crucial not only for Pakistan but for the entire world. He described Afghanistan as Pakistan’s twin brother, sharing similar culture, civilization, and traditions, and expressed a desire for a free, independent, and prosperous Afghanistan.

He also praised the progress of Pakistan Sweet Home, which has grown from a small initiative into a flourishing organization. Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani commended Zammarud Khan for his dedication, which has become a source of national pride. The ceremony featured the hoisting of the Pakistani flag, marking a significant moment of joy.

Chairman Senate also emphasized that the youth of Pakistan, being the most valuable asset of the country, are the future. He reassured the children that they are all cherished, and he praised their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication.
