2,500 Sikh pilgrims from India reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib

ATTOCK, Nov 17 (DNA): Baba Guru Nanak’s 555th birth anniversary celebrations began in Hasan Abdal. More than 2,500 Sikh pilgrims from India reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib to participate in the 555th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.

 Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza along with District Police Officer Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan welcomed the Sikh pilgrims. The birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak is celebrated all over the world by the Sikh community.

Yesterday, Sikh pilgrims from home and abroad have reached Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal to perform their religious rituals on the occasion of Guru Nanak’s birthday. Strict security arrangements were made to perform religious rituals in a safe environment.

On the occasion of the festival, Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza along with District Police Officer Sardar Ghiyas Gul Khan welcomed the Sikh pilgrims and offered flower bouquets.

The Sikh community thanked the Government of Pakistan and the administration for the warm welcome. He also thanked the administration for the excellent arrangements made on this occasion. 

 Talking to the media, the Sikh pilgrims said that whatever event is held in Panja Sahib, we are given all the facilities including security, accommodation, medical, for which we are grateful to the Deputy Commissioner of Attock, the district administration and the Punjab government.
