LAHORE, AUG 1: The Investigation Wing of Lahore Police has compiled a comprehensive report detailing crimes against women in the city, including cases of murder, kidnapping, and sexual assault, from January to July 28, 2025.

According to official data, 74 women were murdered in Lahore during this seven-month period. The police successfully completed investigations in 67 of these cases, with the accused arrested. However, seven murder cases are still under investigation, and the accused involved in those incidents remain at large.

In a staggering figure, the police registered 3,502 cases of women being kidnapped in Lahore. The report notes that 3,140 women have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to trace and safely recover the remaining victims.

The report also highlights 411 cases of sexual assault against women registered during the same period. Police stated that investigations in 363 cases have been completed, and the accused have been apprehended. The remaining cases are still being pursued.

These statistics have been shared with senior authorities, as the police aim to intensify their crackdown on crimes related to gender-based violence. The Crime Control Department (CCD) is also expected to take further action against those involved in gender-related crimes, particularly in cases of sexual abuse and exploitation.
