Former Pakistan fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar and ex-South Africa batsman Herschelle Gibbs shared their experience of playing against each other in an ODI in Sharjah back in 2000.
Gibbs, sharing a trivia on his Twitter profile, said that the Pakistan pacer’s spell did the damage to his team on the day.
Akhtar, in his reply to the opening batsman’s, comments, said that he was in a “hurry to bowl” under the hot conditions.
The batsman then stated that it was the Pakistan pacer who put the heat on South Africa.
Akhtar hoped that Gibbs is doing well amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Shoaib Akhtar was declared man of the match for his figures of 3-9 in 4.5 overs. He bowled two maidens in the game.
Pakistan, while defending 168-run target, went on to win the game by 67 runs without actually dismissing either opening batsmen, Gary Kirsten or Herschelle Gibbs.
