Chairman Tahir Ashrafi declares Rabi-ul-Awwal as 'Month of Mercy' in Pakistan

LAHORE, SEPT 18 /DNA/ – In the auspices of Pakistan Ulama Council, the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be celebrated under the title of the month of Rahmatul-ul-Alameen ﷺ, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council.

While addressing a press conference here on Monday in Lahore, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that during the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, Rahmatul-ul-Alameen ﷺ conferences will be held across the country, in which religious scholars and Ulemas-Mashaykh will speak on social harmony, promotion of tolerance and elimination of extremism from the excerpts of Seerat-e-Tayyaba of the Holy Prophet ﷺ.

The non-Muslim leaders in Pakistan will be invited to participate in the conferences and gatherings organized by the Pakistan Ulema Council during the month of Rabiul Awal, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi adding that Islam is a religion of peace and security and all religions teach peace, affection and tolerance.

Pakistani society requires that we should all work together for the development, stability and prosperity of Pakistan, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi.

Commenting on the visit of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar to US, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that all those elements who has announced to stage protests against Pakistan in America during the speech of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, cannot be friends of Pakistan.

We appeal to Pakistanis in America to stay away from anti-Pakistan activities, said Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi adding that expatriate Pakistanis in USA should raise their voices for the oppressed Kashmiris and Palestinians.

Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi while addressing a press conference in Lahore was also flanked by Maulana Mubasher Rahimi, Maulana Abdul Ghaffar Farooqi, Maulana Ibrahim Hanafi, Mufti Syed Naseem Islam, Mufti Falak Sher, Mufti Rahmat Din, Qari Kifayatullah, Maulana Nasir Haqqani, Qari Faisal Amin and others.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi also said that there should be a reduction in extremist attitudes in Pakistan, adding that tolerance, harmony and brotherhood needs to be promoted.

The teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and all the other prophets of Allah belongs to love and tolerance, no group, party or individual has this right to blasphemies the holy places of other religions.

In this entire scenario, Pakistan Ulema Council has decided that the leaders of non-Muslim religions should also be invited to participate in the gatherings and events held during the month of Rabiul Awal in view of the Seerat-un-Nabi ﷺ and the teachings of the Holy Prophet ﷺ about the non-Muslims will be highlighted on this occasion.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said that
Pakistan belongs to all of us, and Pakistan has been built by both the Muslims and non-Muslims and no kind of violence or extremism should be promoted in Pakistan.

Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi said in response to a question that Pakistan Ulema Council congratulates the new Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and the Pakistan Ulema Council appeals him to make ease the justice system for the common man and take measures to release innocent prisoners who are in jails.

The courts should decide about the prisoners in the jails, and those who are innocent should be released and those who are guilty should be punished.
