Islamabad, OCT 5: UN Women Pakistan is excited to announce the launch of its pioneering podcast series, “Gender Talks”, on 6 October 2023. This persuasive podcast aims to initiate meaningful conversations to inspire positive change for gender equality and women empowerment in Pakistan and beyond.

“Gender Talks” will provide a powerful platform to amplify the voices of women, men, and transpersons, promoting dialogue necessary for sustainable change.

The inaugural season of “Gender Talks” features a collection of dynamic episodes that delve into a wide range of topics, including women’s empowerment, gender-based violence, economic opportunities for women, and more.  The first episode features guests Nilofar Bakhtiar, chairperson of the National Commission for the Status of Women in Pakistan and Sharmeela Rassool, Country Representative for UN Women in Pakistan. The podcast will be hosted by Nabila Malick, UN Women Communications Expert. Each episode will showcase expert interviews, personal stories, and thought-provoking discussions, providing viewers with new perspectives on important gender issues.

Ms. Sharmeela Rassool, Country Representative of UN Women Pakistan, expressing her excitement and high expectations from the podcast series, said, “We believe that ‘Gender Talks’ will serve as a catalyst for positive change in Pakistan and beyond.  By shedding light on the issues that affect women & girls and transpersons, we hope to empower communities, raise awareness, and drive progress toward gender equality and women empowerment.”
