PTCL announces tariff hike for landline and broadband services

In a recent development, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has officially declared a tariff hike for both its landline and broadband services, set to take effect from January 1, 2024.

PTCL customers across the country were notified of the increase through messages distributed on Friday, highlighting a revision in the monthly rates by over 10%.

Sources within PTCL have revealed that the decision to raise tariffs is a response to the escalating business costs faced by the telecommunications giant. In an effort to maintain service quality and meet operational demands, PTCL has deemed it necessary to adjust the pricing structure for its services.

As part of the tariff revision, landline customers and broadband subscribers will experience an increase in their monthly bills. The broadband rate adjustments for Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections are as follows:

6 Mbps: Rs2,050
10 Mbps: Rs2,400
20 Mbps: Rs2,650
30 Mbps: Rs3,020
50 Mbps: Rs5,100
100 Mbps: Rs8,800
