Pakistan dalls short as Bangladesh requires 185 to sweep series

Bangladesh required only 85 runs to win the match. Pakistan top and middle order crumbled but Salman and Rizwan, Pakistan was rebuilding their innings quite successfully to 172 runs.

Bangladeshi openers made 12 runs without having any loss.

Salman led Pakistan’s lower order and scored an unbeaten 47 after Rizwan left.

In a Test match in Pakistan, Hasan Mahmud took a fifer, the first for a fast bowler from Bangladesh. Nahid Rana picked up four wickets.

With clouds beginning to build up near the stadium, all eyes will be on the match’s fourth inning as well as the weather.

As Day 4 of the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh unfolds, the match remains delicately poised with Pakistan holding a slim lead of 76 runs.

After bowling out Bangladesh for 262 in their first innings, Pakistan, who scored 274 in their first innings, are currently 117/6 in their second innings, with Muhammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel at the crease.

Pakistan lead by 129 runs as Bangladesh took four wickets in the session; young Nahid Rana deserves special recognition for taking three wickets in consecutive overs.

However, Rizwan’s dropped catch on the first ball of his innings is turning out to be a critical factor in the outcome of the Test match.

At the crease, both batters appear to be in good shape. Rizwan, who had previously been struck in the helmet by a bouncer delivered by Nahid Rana, struggled a little with it.

He needed to check in with the physiotherapist a few times. After lunch, Bangladesh will try to break the partnership as soon as possible.

Babar Azam went back to the pavilion with 11 runs. The Pakistani side has struggled to build a substantial lead, with Bangladesh’s bowlers, particularly Nahid Rana and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, applying consistent pressure.

Nahid Rana has been particularly effective, taking 1 wicket for just 1 run in his opening over. Mehidy Hasan Miraz, with an economy of 1.80 from 3.2 overs, has also kept things tight for the visitors.

With 84.4 overs remaining in the day, Pakistan will be looking to build on their lead, while Bangladesh aims to make further inroads into the Pakistani batting lineup. The match is set for an exciting finish as both teams vie for dominance in this closely contested series.

Fans hope Pakistan to put up a challenging target and Bangladesh aims to keep the game within reach.
