Bilawal calls for uplifting country's judiciary

ISLAMABAD, SEPT 13: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari emphasised on Friday the need for uplifting the country’s judiciary.

Speaking to media in Islamabad, the former foreign minister lamented: “No institution is working properly, while the masses are disappointed. Even there are the alarming news in line with the law and order in the country.”

“This is for the first time in history that the politics is being staged on matters pertaining to the national security and law and order situation,” he said.

“The only solution to all the problems is that all the institutions need to work properly,” he said.

Speaking about the constitutional amendments, Bhutto-Zardari said: “Only talks are being held on the constitutional amendments, and no action is being taken practically.”

“There is a plenty of margin to make improvements in the process of the appointment of the judges,” he said.

Giving his take on JUI-F supremo, Bhutto-Zardari said: “Fazlur Rehman is playing the role of the opposition.”

– Hybrid-sharing formula –

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Hassan Murtaza on Friday made it clear that his party was connected with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) through the hybrid-sharing formula, not the power-sharing.

Addressing a press conference, Murtaza said: Speaking about the PPP’s triumph in NA-171, Murtaza said: “The PPP has bludgeoned the negative mindset in NA-171.”

He rebuked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), saying, “Even today, we are of the view that the PTI should not be allowed to stage the public gathering.”

“It was absolutely inappropriate to resort to the tactics of the hooliganism during the public gathering,” Murtaza maintained.

He admitted that the relations between the PML-N and PPP were not “exemplary” in Punjab.

“I would like to say to the PML-N leadership that situation in the country is not too good,” he added.
