Karachi Hosts Prestigious 31st Aalmi Mushaira

 ISLAMABAD, FEB 12 (DNA)The Sakinan e Shahre Quaid Aalmi Mushaira Committee, led by its Chairman Dr. Haji Muhammad Haji Rafiq Pardesi, organized a grand Aalmi Mushaira (International Poetry Symposium) at the Karachi Expo Center, captivating poetry enthusiasts with an evening of soulful Urdu verses. The event, held under the patronage of prominent community figures, drew a distinguished audience and celebrated the rich literary heritage of Urdu poetry.

Sindh Governor Mr. Kamran Khan Tessori attended as the Chief Guest, while Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi, Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, and Sindh Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Iqbal Memon were also present to laud the cultural initiative. The gathering underscored the city’s enduring connection to poetic expression and its role as a hub for artistic gatherings.

Committee and Prominent Supporters

The organizing committee featured Mr. Farhanur Rehman (President), Mr. Sheikh Rashid Alam (General Secretary), and Mr. Khalid Jamil Shamsi (Treasurer). Mr. S.M. Tanveer of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) participated as the committee’s Patron. The rhythmic cadence of Urdu poetry, delivered by masters of the craft, kept attendees enthralled late into the night. Governor Tessori and other dignitaries praised the organizers for reviving Karachi’s cultural legacy and providing a platform for literary luminaries.

Dr. Haji Rafiq Pardesi highlighted the committee’s mission to promote Urdu literature and unite communities through art. The mushaira, which concluded in the early hours, was hailed as a testament to Karachi’s enduring love for poetry and its ability to bridge diverse audiences.
