DUBAI, May 17 (DNA): Pakistani police officer Anum Khan Muhammad Sher, serving as police officer at Sargodha City Police Station, has made the nation proud by winning the prestigious ‘Excellence in Criminal Investigation’ award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards, held in Dubai.

The international honour recognises her exceptional investigative work and professional leadership, placing Pakistan’s law enforcement on the global stage.

The award was presented during a grand ceremony hosted by Dubai Police, attended by police leaders and security experts from over 90 countries.

Anum Khan earned this recognition for leading and resolving two high-profile murder investigations in Pakistan’s Punjab province. In the first case, she supervised the investigation into the tragic death of 12-year-old domestic worker Ayesha Bibi, who was brutally murdered. Under her command, the Sargodha Police apprehended the suspects within 72 hours, earning widespread appreciation from both the public and government officials, including the Punjab Chief Minister.

In another remarkable case, she led the swift arrest of suspects involved in the murder of a young man named Mohsin, ensuring justice within just 24 hours. Both investigations demonstrated not only her command over investigative procedures but also her commitment to timely and fair justice. Her leadership in these cases had earlier earned her official commendation and recognition from Punjab Police.

Organised under the patronage of the UAE government, the World Police Summit is one of the most prominent global platforms for recognising excellence in policing. Anum Khan was chosen from among more than 900 submissions from around the world, highlighting the significance of her contribution.

Speaking after receiving the award in Dubai, Anum Khan said, “It is a proud moment for Pakistan and the Punjab Police. I am honoured to represent my country and show that we are capable of not just maintaining law and order but of achieving international standards of policing. This award is a tribute to my entire team and the values we uphold.”

Her achievement is seen as a significant milestone for Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies, particularly the Punjab Police, as it reflects the growing professionalism and capability of its officers. It also sends a powerful message that Pakistani police women are playing a leading role in shaping the future of law enforcement—both nationally and internationally.
