ISLAMABAD, JUN 6 /DNA/ – Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chief Commissioner Islamabad and DG Civil Defence, Muhammad Ali Randhawa along with Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi presided over a high-level meeting at the Islamabad Safe City Headquarters today.

The meeting was attended by CDA board members, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, representatives from Solid Waste Management, Islamabad Administration, the District Management Authority (DMA), Islamabad Police, and relevant senior officers.
During the meeting, the joint and comprehensive Action Plan by CDA, the District Administration, and Islamabad Police for foolproof security arrangements, traffic management, and the cleanliness/disposal of sacrificial animal waste in Islamabad during Eid-ul-Adha was finalized.
Furthermore, a joint control room was established and activated within the Safe City system to ensure coordinated and organized implementation of the best and most effective security and waste disposal arrangements, surpassing last year’s efforts during Eid-ul-Adha.
Chairman CDA said that the Islamabad Safe City system plays a pivotal role in not only the security but also governance of the entire capital. He stressed the need for enhanced inter-departmental coordination and collaboration, utilizing Safe City cameras and modern technology to make Islamabad’s security, traffic, and sanitation systems more effective. He directed all relevant institutions to perform their roles diligently through effective coordination to provide the best possible facilities to citizens during Eid-ul-Adha.
Islamabad Police gave a detailed briefing on the special security and traffic arrangements planned for Eid-ul-Adha. It was informed that about 895 police personnel will be deployed across various points in Islamabad city. Special checking and monitoring arrangements, including checkpoints, have been set up at various locations throughout the city. Special security and traffic plans have also been devised for areas surrounding Shah Faisal Mosque, other mosques, central Imambargahs, public places, parks, commercial centers, and graveyards.
During the briefing, it was stated that to maintain high sanitation standards, the CDA Solid Waste Management will specially deploy 2,500 sanitation workers along with modern vehicles and machinery at various locations across the city. Additionally, biodegradable plastic bags are being distributed door-to-door and at various points citywide. The aerial monitoring system via Safe City cameras and drone cameras has also been fully activated.
Chairman CDA commended the joint arrangements by the DMA, all Assistant Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Islamabad Police, and Traffic Police for monitoring the cattle markets established in the city and their timely crackdowns against illegal cattle markets. He directed strict legal action against camps set up for illegal trading of sacrificial animal hides and against beggars. He also directed a complete ban on bathing in dams and streams to prevent any untoward incidents. Furthermore, he instructed that the big parks be announced as family parks and the relevant Parks Administration be alerted to ensure the durability of swings in parks, stating that protecting innocent and precious lives is our foremost duty.
Chairman CDA stated that special attention will also be paid to the cleanliness and security arrangements at graveyards during Eid-ul-Adha to ensure citizens visiting the graves of their loved ones for prayers are provided with complete security facilities.
The meeting was briefed that, keeping citizens convenience in view during Eid-ul-Adha, the relevant departments have activated helpline number 1334 and WhatsApp numbers. It was also informed that the system for automatic identification of suspicious activities using modern technology would be fully operational.
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the CDA administration has appealed to citizens to place sacrificial animal waste outside their homes, from where CDA staff will collect it. Alternatively, citizens can inform the CDA helpline. CDA staff will remain present in every sector to assist citizens in waste removal with full readiness.
At the end, it was informed that citizens of Islamabad has excellent efforts of CDA under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA about his initiative of distributing
2 lacs biodegradable bags door to door for disposal of waste. Citizens assured their fullest support to CDA regarding cleanliness and making the federal capital more beautiful.
