ICCI Delegation in Dhaka: Pushes for bilateral trade growth with Bangladesh

DHAKA, JUL 29 /DNA/ – Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to Bangladesh,  Mohammad Wasif, has emphasized the importance of fostering stronger economic linkages between Pakistan and Bangladesh, stating that both countries must work together to explore new avenues of collaboration for mutual economic benefit.

He made these remarks during a meeting with a visiting delegation of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), currently in Dhaka to identify and explore emerging business opportunities.

The ICCI delegation is being led by its President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi and includes Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry, Executive Member Rohail Anwar Butt, and Council Member Chaudhry Mohammad Masood.

Welcoming the delegation,  Mohammad Wasif appreciated ICCI’s initiative to visit Bangladesh and underscored the value of such engagements in strengthening bilateral economic relations. He assured the delegation of the High Commission’s full support in facilitating their business initiatives and connecting them with key stakeholders in Bangladesh.

Speaking on the occasion, ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi expressed sincere gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the private sector’s interest in developing robust partnerships with Bangladeshi businesses. He said Pakistan is particularly keen to collaborate in areas such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, information technology, and agro-based industries.

ICCI Vice President Mr. Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry noted that Pakistan and Bangladesh, with their shared history and economic complementarities, possess immense untapped potential. He stressed the importance of structured dialogue between private sectors of both nations and advocated for increased business-to-business engagements to develop sustainable commercial linkages.

Both sides agreed that regular exchange of trade delegations, participation in international trade fairs, and the organization of joint business forums would significantly contribute to enhancing bilateral trade and investment flows.

The ICCI delegation will continue its engagements in Dhaka, including B2B meetings at the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry and interactions with key business groups in Bangladesh.
