Petrol price in Pakistan may drop from Oct 16, 2025

ISLAMABAD, OCT 14: Consumers in Pakistan may get some relief at the pumps this week, as petroleum prices are expected to decrease from October 16, 2025.

According to industry estimates, petrol prices could drop by Rs6.10 per litre, while high-speed diesel may see a reduction of Rs1 per litre.

Sources said that the oil industry has sent its working to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) for review. The authority is expected to forward its summary to the Ministry of Finance tomorrow.

According to the working, petrol prices are likely to be reduced by Rs6.10 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs1 per litre, while kerosene oil may become cheaper by Rs2.75 and light diesel oil by Rs1.64 per litre.

OGRA will submit its recommendations to the Ministry of Finance, which will make the final decision and issue a notification on the new prices. The revised fuel prices will take effect from October 16 after the official announcement.

However, sources warned that if the government decides to increase petroleum levy or sales tax, the expected relief could be reduced or even eliminated.
