Lok Mela draws 200,000 visitors on its fifth day

ISLAMABAD, NOV 11 /DNA/ – Lok Mela 2025 continued to enchant audiences on its fifth day, drawing an exceptional turnout of over 200,000 visitors. The festival grounds were alive with color and culture as families, tourists, students, artisans, and enthusiasts participated in diverse activities, exhibitions, and live performances.

The highlight of Day 5 was the much-anticipated Qawwali Night, held at 7:00 PM at the Open Air Theatre. The **Sharafat Sher Ali Khan Qawwal Group delivered a spiritually uplifting performance featuring classical qawwalis, devotional kalam, and traditional harmonium and tabla arrangements. Their grand finale earned a standing ovation, making it one of the most memorable cultural evenings of the festival.

Adding a diplomatic dimension to the celebrations, *Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev, visited Lok Mela 2025 and expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage. He interacted with artisans, enjoyed the Qawwali performance, and commended Lok Virsa’s efforts in promoting cultural diversity and strengthening people-to-people ties.

Visitors also explored artisan stalls featuring pottery, textiles, ajrak printing, embroidery, lacquer work, jewelry, and woodcraft. Provincial pavilions representing Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir remained vibrant with live demonstrations and regional showcases.

Media engagement was equally strong, with Qawwali Night trending on social media and receiving widespread coverage from bloggers, influencers, and local television channels.
