ISLAMABAD, NOV 14 /DNA/ – Prominent businessman and Chairman Pakistan Business Forum (PBF) France, Sardar Zahoor Iqbal, has said that Pakistan has achieved major successes on the military and diplomatic fronts and is now fully poised to secure similar breakthroughs on the economic front. He expressed these views while speaking to business leaders during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI).
Sardar Zahoor Iqbal extended a formal invitation to the ICCI office-bearers and members to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Business Forum Convention in Paris, where delegations from across Europe are expected to attend. He assured full protocol and facilitation for the ICCI delegation, enabling effective B2B networking, matchmaking, and exploration of joint ventures to enhance bilateral trade and investment.
He said that Pakistan’s strategic location and government focus on economic reforms have significantly boosted investor confidence. He added that the convention in Paris would offer an excellent opportunity to introduce Pakistan’s export potential particularly in textiles, pharmaceuticals, IT, rice, leather, sports goods, halal products, construction, and tourism.
In his welcome remarks, ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood said that it is high time to translate Pakistan’s economic potential into tangible opportunities. He affirmed that ICCI has been playing a strong role in strengthening Pakistan’s economic diplomacy by organizing international business conferences, promoting trade delegations, and enhancing linkages with overseas chambers of commerce.
He said that although Pakistan and European countries enjoy cordial relations, bilateral trade volume remains below potential and must be enhanced through sustained engagement and facilitation. He also appreciated the efforts of PBF France and Sardar Zahoor Iqbal for mobilizing overseas Pakistanis and the European business community to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in renewable energy, real estate development, hospitality, agriculture, and SME collaboration.
ICCI Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub highlighted the Chamber’s key milestones and said the business community of Pakistan is vibrant, resilient, and committed to contributing to the country’s economic development. He stressed the importance of frequent B2B meetings to forge durable trade partnerships.
Former ICCI President Mohammad Shakeel Munir and former Senior Vice President Mohammad Naveed Malik emphasized boosting exports through value addition, adopting international standards, and actively participating in global trade fairs to promote Pakistani products more effectively.
