LAHORE, NOV 18 (APP/DNA): In line with the Prime Minister’s directives, Pakistan on Tuesday dispatched its 25th humanitarian consignment comprising 100 tons of relief goods for Gaza from Allama Iqbal International Airport under the supervision of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, the shipment includes tents, tarpaulins, water containers and other essential supplies. With the latest dispatch, Pakistan has so far sent 2,427 tons of aid to Gaza through 25 consignments.
Federal Minister for Public Affairs Unit (PAU) Rana Mubashir Iqbal attended the departure ceremony as the chief guest along with government representatives, senior NDMA officials, Al-Khidmat Foundation leadership and representatives of other welfare organizations.
On the occasion, the minister said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had advised that Pakistan continue to extend its steadfast solidarity and support to the people of Gaza. He said Pakistan had always stood shoulder to shoulder with the Palestinian people and the ongoing assistance reflected the country’s shared values, Islamic brotherhood and moral responsibility. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining the supply of relief goods while praying for sustainable peace, safety of the Palestinian people and stability in the region.
Rana Mubashir Iqbal said the oppressed Muslims of Gaza and Palestine were Pakistan’s brothers and support for them would continue. Condemning the daily killing of innocent civilians, particularly children, he said Israel had become a threat to global peace and urged the United Nations to take strict notice of its continuing aggression. He stressed that Muslim countries must unite in support of Palestine and said Israel’s bombardment of civilian areas constituted a flagrant violation of humanitarian principles.
The minister appreciated the timely efforts of NDMA, Al-Khidmat Foundation and other partner organizations for ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of relief goods to Gaza and thanked them for their dedicated service.
