ISLAMABAD, Dec 3, 2025 — Pakistan is set to welcome H.E. Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, who arrives today on his first-ever State Visit to the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The two-day visit, scheduled from 3–4 December, marks a significant milestone in Pakistan–Kyrgyzstan diplomatic relations, coming two decades after the last presidential visit from Bishkek in January 2005.
President Zhaparov will be accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including senior cabinet members, top government officials and prominent business leaders, reflecting the growing importance both nations attach to strengthening bilateral engagement.
During his stay, the Kyrgyz President will hold a meeting with the President of Pakistan and a tête-à-tête with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which will be followed by formal delegation-level talks. A key highlight of the visit will be President Zhaparov’s address at the Pakistan–Kyrgyzstan Business Forum, where business communities of both countries are expected to explore fresh opportunities for cooperation and investment.
The visit is expected to provide an important platform for the two sides to review the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. Discussions will span a wide range of sectors, including trade and economic cooperation, energy connectivity, defence collaboration, educational exchanges, tourism promotion, and enhancing people-to-people ties. Regional connectivity—particularly through Central Asian energy and transport corridors—is also set to feature prominently.
Officials note that Pakistan and the Kyrgyz Republic share deep-rooted brotherly ties, anchored in common history, faith and cultural linkages, as well as shared aspirations for peace, stability and prosperity in Central and South Asia.
The State Visit is anticipated to inject new momentum into bilateral cooperation and pave the way for stronger collaboration at regional and multilateral forums. Both sides hope that the engagements over the next two days will set the stage for a renewed era of partnership between Islamabad and Bishkek.
