The federal cabinet undertook major decisions related to new currency note designs, the Hajj policy, and key economic matters.

The cabinet session headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ratified the decisions taken in previous meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Energy and the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).

During the meeting, the Ministry of Finance gave a detailed briefing on the preparation for introducing new currency notes featuring modern security measures.

The cabinet was informed that the designs are being developed to meet contemporary international standards, with input from international experts. A cabinet committee was approved to further review and finalize the new currency designs.

The cabinet also discussed the registration and verification process of private Hajj operator companies through third-party arrangements. It directed that the draft Private Hajj Policy for 2027–2030 be forwarded to the Hajj Policy Committee for further consideration.

Additionally, the federal cabinet endorsed the decisions taken in the Cabinet Committee on Energy meeting held on December 24.
