ISLAMABAD, Jun 2: A fire broke out on the green belt along Margalla Avenue opposite Sector C-15, prompting an emergency response from firefighting and environmental authorities.
Rescue teams launched an operation to contain the blaze, while strong winds created challenges for personnel working at the site.
According to the Islamabad district administration, firefighting teams reached the area soon after the fire was reported and began efforts to bring the situation under control. Officials said firefighters are actively working to prevent the flames from spreading further along the green belt.
Teams from the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board and environmental authorities are also present at the scene to monitor the impact of the fire and assist in response efforts where required.
The district administration stated that strong winds in the area have made firefighting operations more difficult, slowing efforts to fully extinguish the blaze. Despite these challenges, rescue personnel continue to work on containing the fire.
Officials expressed confidence that the situation will be brought under control shortly. The district administration said all relevant departments remain engaged in the operation and are coordinating their efforts to ensure the fire is extinguished as quickly as possible.
