According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on POF’s operations and its work in developing and manufacturing a wide range of military equipment locally.
During the visit, he witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition. The demonstrations highlighted POF’s focus on indigenous production, technological development and greater self-reliance in the defence sector.
Field Marshal Asim Munir was also given an update on the progress of POF’s corporatisation process following the enactment of the Defence Industrial Production and Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DIPRA) Ordinance.
Officials further briefed him on ongoing efforts to expand and modernise production facilities. Two new industrial plants are being installed and are expected to begin production by the end of the year.
The visit comes as Pakistan continues to focus on strengthening its domestic defence manufacturing capabilities and reducing reliance on imported equipment.
The military said the visit reflected its commitment to indigenous defence production, innovation and technological advancement, while also highlighting POF’s potential to increase defence exports.
Established as Pakistan’s largest defence industrial complex, POF plays an important role in supplying arms and ammunition to the country’s armed forces and supporting the wider defence industry.
